“It is important to emphasize that, being a respiratory illness, the coronavirus is covered like any illness within the Health and Medical Expenses insurance policies. In case the level of pandemic or epidemic is reached, most insurers cover this type of illness, ”said Recaredo Arias, AMIS Director General.
Association figures detail that in 2019 the insurers paid around 60 billion pesos for the care of diseases, of which, about 5%, that is, 3 billion pesos, corresponded to respiratory ailments.

"It is important that, like ten years ago, we all follow the prevention measures that have been recommended to us, to reduce the risk of contagion," he said.
