Hand sanitizer.
Making your own hand sanitizer is very easy to do and requires following ingredients
1) Isopropyl or rubbing alcohol (IPA) 99% alcohol .
2) Aloe vera gel
3) Lemon juice or glycerin
Procedure
Mix 2:1 proportion of IPA to aloe vera gel and add lemon juice or glycerin to it.
It's effective against germs to protect you form microbes especially from COVID-19.
Procedure:
All pharmacist can help society by preparing Hand sanitizer on small scale.
Formula 1: WHO for 1 litre
1) Ethanol...96% ( 833.3 ml)
2) Hydrogen peroxide ... 3% ( 41.7 ml)
3) Glycerol ... 98% ( 14.5 ml)
4) Sterile distilled or boiled cold water
Method of Preparation
1) The alcohol for the formula (833.3ml) is poured into the large bottle ( marked or graduated is better for final volume)
2) Hydrogen Peroxide, required amount (41.7 ml) is added
3) Glycerol (14.5 ml) is added
4) The bottle or container is topped up to the 1 litre with sterile distilled or cold boiled water
5) The bottle or container is covered tightly to prevent evaporation
6) The solution is mixed by shaking gently or by using a paddle
7) Immediately divide or pour into final container (plastic bottle and place the bottle unused for 72 hours at cool place. After 72 hours , see any spore formation , discard that bottle. Donot use that bottle as container having moisture in it. If yes, rinse it with alcohol.
Formula 2: 1 liter
1) Isopropyl alcohol 99.8%
2) Hydrogen peroxide
3) Glycerin 98 %
4) Steril distilled or boiled cold water
Method of preparation ( same above)
Formula 3:
Water....... 1/4 Cup Water
Gelatin ..... 1/2 tsp
Aloe Vera pulp.. 1/2 Cup
Glycerine ....1 tbs
Formula 4: 1 liter
1) Ethanol .... 860 ml
2) Glycerin...15 ml
Mix together and make volume with distilled or boiled cold water up to 1000 ml.
